5G is the latest generation of cellular connectivity. 5G is significantly faster than 4G LTE, and is expected to be the standard for cellular connectivity for the next decade. In this article we will be showing you how to enable 5G connectivity on your iPhone.
First, verify that your iPhone is 5G compatible. 5G is available iPhone 12 models and later.
Once you have verified that your iPhone is 5G compatible, you can enable 5G connectivity on your iPhone by following the steps below:
- Open the Settings application on your iPhone.
- Tap on Cellular.
- Tap on Cellular Data Options.
- Tap on Voice & Data.
This will give you the option to select between the following cellular data modes:
- 5G On - This will use 5G connectivity whenever it is available, even when it may reduce battery life.
- 5G Auto - This will use 5G connectivity whenever it is available and when it will not significantly reduce battery life.
- LTE - This will never use 5G connectivity.
Skyicom recommends using the 5G Auto setting, as it will use 5G connectivity whenever it is available and when it will not significantly reduce battery life.
Remember, 5G connectivity is not available everywhere. If you are in an area where 5G connectivity is not available, your iPhone will automatically fall back to LTE.
